Lindsay Dee Lohan , legally changed to, Lindsay Morgan Lohan was born in New York City on July 2, 1986 . Her mother Dina is a former Radio City "Rockette" while her father Michael was a long-time Wall Street trader before he struck it rich with a family pasta business. He has now redirected his energies into film development and producing.
Along with her three younger siblings, Michael, Aliana and Dakota, Lindsay was raised in Long Island . Lindsay was such a natural beauty that she began modeling at the age of 3. In fact, she was the first redheaded child ever signed by the renowned Ford Modeling Agency.

But Lindsay Lohan wasn't just a pretty child; she was also talented. Capitalizing on her flair for performing, she was cast in over 60 TV commercials for companies such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Wendy's, the Gap, Pizza Hut, Calvin Klein, and Jell-O, in which she shared the screen with Bill Cosby.
When she was 7, Lindsay was required to dress up as garbage for a Halloween skit on the Late Show with David Letterman called "Things You Find on the Bottom of the Subway." It was her first real acting job.

In 1996, Lindsay got her second big break when she was cast on the long-running NBC soap opera, Another World. For only one season, she became the third actress to portray Alexandra "Alli" Fowler.
Shortly after, Lindsay Lohan hit the highway to fame when Disney sought to remake the hugely successful family comedy, The Parent Trap (1961). There was a six-month casting search and in January 1997, Lindsay got a phone call from director Nancy Meyers to announce that she had received the role that Hayley Mills made popular in the early '60s.
In the 1998 version, Lindsay Lohan starred as estranged twin sisters Hallie Parker and Annie James, who meet for the first time while at summer camp and later devise a plan to make their parents fall in love again. Not only was it a blockbuster, but Lindsay also came away with a Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress, which she shared with Jena Malone (Stepmom).

In addition, she also got a three-picture deal with Disney, thanks to this movie. Although she turned down the part of Penny in Inspector Gadget (1999), her next move was to appear in the Wonderful World of Disney production of Life-Size (2000), a comedy also featuring supermodel Tyra Banks.
In 2000, Bette Midler was slated to star in a new sitcom called Bette, and Lindsay was cast as her daughter, Rose. But once the pilot was shot, the producers decided to move the production from New York to Los Angeles . Wanting to stay in New York , Lindsay left the sitcom. The show moved to California , actress Marina Malota replaced Lindsay, and 16 episodes later, Bette was canceled.
This left Lindsay Lohan with some free time and she spent it shooting the Disney Channel Original Movie of the Month, Get a Clue (2002), in which she played a snooty school gossip columnist out to discover what happened to a missing teacher. After shooting, she took a short break from acting.

During this period, Lindsay decided to concentrate on her musical career. Having been in the entertainment industry for most of her life, she had received quite a few useful phone numbers over the years. In September 2002, music heavyweight Emilio Estefan, Jr. took Lindsay under his wing. She signed a five-album deal with Estefan Enterprises.

Next on her plate was another remake of a Disney classic. Along with Jamie Lee Curtis, Lohan was cast in Freaky Friday (2003) and reprised one of the early roles that made Jodie Foster a household name.
The body-swapping fantasy grossed over $100 million US domestically and allowed Lindsay to showcase her singing abilities in the movie. In fact, it's because of her song "Ultimate" that the soundtrack was propelled to Billboard's Top 20 in less than three weeks.

Lindsay Lohan Arrested for DUI

Lindsay Lohan, who just finished a second stint in rehab for substance abuse treatment, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and possession of cocaine early Tuesday, authorities said.
Lohan, who is already facing a drunken driving charge in Beverly Hills, was stopped near the Santa Monica Police Department after authorities were called about a car chasing another vehicle, said Sgt. Shane Talbot. Authorities conducted a field sobriety test and then transported Lohan to the police department. A breath test was conducted and her blood alcohol was between .12 percent and .13 percent, Talbot said. California's legal limit is 0.08 percent. The 21-year-old actress was booked on two misdemeanor charges of suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license and two felony charges of possession of cocaine and transport of a narcotic, Talbot said.
During a pre-booking search, police found cocaine in one of Lohan's pants pockets, Talbot said. Lohan has been released on $25,000 bail, police said. A call to Lohan's publicist was not immediately returned. Police said they received a call around 1:30 a.m. from passengers in a black Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle who said they were being chased by a white Denali SUV. Police met up with the SUVs in the parking lot of Santa Monica's Civic Center, about a block away from the police department. When police approached the Denali, they recognized Lohan as the driver. The passengers in the other vehicle apparently know Lohan, but did not realize she was chasing them. Lohan had two passengers in her vehicle. There were three people in the other vehicle, police said. Last week, Lohan turned herself in to Beverly Hills police to face charges of driving under the influence in connection with a Memorial Day weekend hit-and-run crash.
Lohan's blood-alcohol level at the time of that crash was above the legal limit, authorities said. They wouldn't disclose how high it was. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of hit and run in that case. Lohan and two other adults were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible when she lost control and crashed into a curb and shrubs on Sunset Boulevard on May 26, police said. Lohan got into a second car and was driven to a hospital in Century City for minor injuries, police said. The others in her car were not hurt. Officers received a 911 call about the accident and traced her to the hospital. Two weeks ago, Lohan checked out of a rehabilitation center after more than six weeks. In January she also had checked into rehab for substance abuse treatment.

Sienna Miller has replaced Lindsay Lohan in the upcoming film The Best Time of Our Lives, after Lohan pulled out of the project last week, reportedly due to issues with her contract.
it's the second film Lohan has opted out of in recent months. In February, she dropped out of the big-screen adaptation of Oscar Wilde's A Woman of No Importance in order to focus on her recovery after her stint in rehab. Jessica Biel stepped in to take over the role, starring opposite Annette Bening.

The movie has been a long-cherished project of playwright Sharman Macdonald, and Keira, her daughter, told me it's a film that she promised her mother she would star in.

The 'Mean Girls' star looked dishevelled and worryingly thin in the toilets of the plush Hollywood Roosevelt hotel where she had been partying at exclusive nightclub Teddy's on Saturday night (03.03.07). After spending 10 minutes in a cubicle, Lindsay - who was wearing a pair of oversized sunglasses - breezed out of the toilets followed by a group of girls.
One fellow reveller, who had been partying at the hotel's Tropicana Poolside Bar, said: "She looked really thin and tired, although it was quite difficult to tell if she had been drinking. Most of the other girls were surprised when they found out they had been sharing a rest room with a Hollywood A-lister.
She tried not to look at anyone as she left, but one girl noticed her and said, 'That was Lindsay Lohan! Hasn't she just come out of rehab?' " After her trip to the toilets, Lindsay, 20, was seen heading back to the nightclub. It is not the first time the 'Bobby' star has enjoyed an evening at Teddy's since leaving Los Angeles' Wonderland rehab centre on February 16.

Lindsay Lohan has completed her treatment in rehab. The actress was let out of Wonderland, a rehab center in Los Angeles, on Friday after completing a 30 day stay, the actress' publicist Leslie Sloane-Zelnick revealed in a statement. "She is taking it one day at a time, as she is in it for the long time. She asks that we respect her privacy."
According to Sloane Zelnik, the 20-year-old starlet, who checked into the Wonderland Center in Los Angeles' Laurel Canyon neighborhood Jan. 18, had been spending most of her days on the set of her latest film, the thriller I Know Who Killed Me, and then returning to the treatment facility at night, reports E! Online.
Lohan checked herself into rehab in early January days after reports surfaced she passed out at a post-Golden Globes soiree, a report at Access Hollywood reveals. In early 2004, an 18-year-old Lindsay denied any drug use. "People are going to think I'm this crazy girl and everything and they've said I've danced on tables and everything. It's just so silly," she said at the time. "If they write I'm doing drugs and stuff, that's stupid. I know I don't do that. I have a sister and a family. I know that from personal family experience and I've seen other people go through that. I know better than that.
After her one-time party pal Britney's latest stunt of shaving her head, it's hard not to be pulling for the 'Mean Girls' starlet.
Lindsay Lohan Doing Great and Brought a New Apartment

Lindsay Lohan's mother has insisted that the actress is "doing great" after giving up alcohol.
The Mean Girls star checked into rehab at the Wonderland Center in Los Angeles last month and mum Dina confirmed that the treatment has been extremely effective.
"She's amazing. She's great and she's happy," Dina explained. "She's in a really good space right now. It's wonderful at Wonderland - how cheesy."
Lindsay Lohan has reportedly bought an apartment that once belonged to Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn lived in the El Palacio apartment in West Hollywood during the 1950s. It's not known whether Lindsay will live in the property or if it is an investment.

Lindsay was caught by photogs as she entered the lobby of her apartment building yesterday afternoon, despite being in an in-patient treatment program at Wonderland Center.
Residents are allowed to attend AA meetings and medical appointments outside the facility, but La Lohan appears to be spending more time out of the center than she is in it. At a high-priced rehabilitation center such as Wonderland, it's likely that the program is individually tailored for residents. When you're one of the most talked about and sought after Hollywood starlets, special treatment seems standard issue. Unfortunately, it may be just that kind of special "enabling" treatment that allowed Lohan to spiral out of control and into rehab.

The report was confirmed by her publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnick. Zelnick said the Bobby actress has checked into a rehab facility in Hollywood, the exclusive Wonderland Center. This was reported in the website of the Us Weekly magazine. In a statement released to the press, Lindsay said, “I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health. I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time.”
The actress refused to divulge what problem led her to the rehab facility. Us magazine, in its report, said that the Wonderland Center is a rehab facility that provides therapy and treatment for alcohol as well as substance abuse, and also has relapse-prevention programs. Lindsay was seen having a night on the town after going through an appendix operation.
There was speculation in the media about who managed to get Lindsay to the rehab facility in the first place. Perezhilton.com, a Hollywood gossip website reported that the person who got Lindsay into rehab was none other than Brandon Davis, ex-boyfriend of Paris Hilton . That in itself is an interesting news item, considering the fact that Jarvis had earlier last year branded Lindsay ‘firecrotch'.
According to a source, the website reported, Brandon had been instrumental in getting Lindsay to the facility. “Lindsay paid a visit to Brandon during his most recent stay in rehab. And he's been instrumental in getting her to get help,” the source apparently told the website.
One person who spoke out on the issue was Lindsay's mother. She said there was nothing to worry about, adding that she was proud of her daughter for deciding to take the step she took. It showed that she was in control of her life, she said.
“I'm so proud of her. She's really in a good place right now, spiritually and mentally. She's 20 and she's solid, and she's doing what she needs to do. I don't know that many people who are that secure. It's all about her, and getting back on track. She's fine - she's amazingly fine,” Lindsay's mother was reported to have said.

The National Enquirer is reporting that Lindsay Lohan’s liver has been damaged by her partying lifestyle.
A source told the magazine that doctors made the discovery during her recent stay in hospital to have her appendix removed: “The appendectomy was routine, but what doctors discovered in her blood work was not.”
“Lindsay’s liver panel shows her drinking is taking a terrible toll on her health. Her liver enzymes are extremely elevated, and doctors warned her if she doesn’t quit boozing she could die.”
The source added that high levels of two particular enzymes show that there is damage to her liver cells causing the enzymes to leak into her blood and in addition, she has low levels of protein in her liver too.
The source told the magazine that the doctors “couldn’t believe she was even walking around”.
Last month, Lindsay admitted to attending Alcoholics Anonymous sessions in a bid to curb her drinking but has been repeatedly rumoured to have been spotted drinking since then.

Britney Spears fashion choices made headlines when she was photographed stepping into Paris' car while wearing no panties, giving the paparazzi a photograph to remember.
Coming second on Mr. Blackwell's list of worst dressed celebrities was Camilla Parker-Bowles, wife of Britain's future king, Prince Charles. Blackwell dubbed Bowles the "Duchess of Dowdy" and a "royal wreck," citing her penchant for feathered hats.
Third place on the dubious list was Freaky Friday star Lindsay Lohan, who was called "tragically trapped in fashion's fast lane," by Mr. Blackwell. Britney Spears' ex Kevin Federline apparently has no intention of wasting time on the Hollywood love scene. In fact, sugar hubby has already made romantic advances to 20-year-old actress Lindsay Lohan, one of Britney Spears' new friends.
Less than a month after the 'Toxic' singer was spotted out partying with Lohan, K-Fed sent Lohan a text message, suggesting, "We should hang out." But, according to Us Weekly, Lindsay Lohan was less than thrilled about the chance to hang out with K-Fed.
"She was totally grossed out," Us Online quoted a Lohan pal, as saying, "She couldn't believe he was so pathetic. She doesn't want him using her to make Britney jealous."
Apparently, Federline didn't appreciate Lohan's "Why would I hang out with you?" reply, and fired back, calling her a "firecrotch." So sophisticated.

Lindsay Lohan shunned more traditional celebrations on Christmas Eve in favour of hanging out at a trendy New York club.
But the star did apparently make good on her recent decision to stop drinking alcohol.
Swapping midnight mass for a night out in New York's Meatpacking District, Li-Lo was spotted arriving at Lotus at around 11:30pm on Christmas Eve, according to the New York Daily News.
Joined by a gaggle of friends including US socialite and reality TV star Brittny Gastineau, Linds, clad in a blue blazer and multicoloured scarf, reportedly declined the multiple rounds of free booze that were sent over to her table, according to the newspaper's spy.
The girls partied at the club until 3am, when Lindsay apparently decided to give her gang their Christmas presents. Hardly the height of luxury, Lindsay's extravagant gift to her friends was a Christmas morning breakfast of hot-dogs from street vendor outside the club.

So it is no surprise that she wholeheartedly practiced for the role of a stripper for an upcoming film called "I Know Who Killed Me." Directed by Chris Sivertson, the film has Lohan playing a topless dancer called Aubrey Fleming. "I've been in pole dancing lessons, S Factor by Sheila Kelley, every day for four hours. I have bruises all over. That's why I haven't worn shorts," Lohan explained to People. The New York Post confirmed that Lohan said the same things to her friends in e-mail. "So… 3 hours of pole dancing and bruised. everywhere… I mean we're talkin' like, UPPER AND INNER THIGH ACTION-bruised… like a walking black-and-blue mark," Lohan apparently wrote. Lohan plays a stripper who is kidnapped and tortured by a serial killer. However after being rescued, she claims to be an entirely different person. Frank Mancuso, Jr. is producing the film, which is scheduled to begin shooting after Christmas in Los Angeles. Lohan's rep Leslie Sloane confirmed on the Post that her character in the film is of a stripper, "Her character is a stripper, and she now realizes that the job isn't easy," she added.

Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton got it all started by flashing photographers way before Britney Spears and while everyone tries to come up with a clever nickname for the flashers Star Magazine chimes with their report in this week's magazine and the girls have been given the new title of the anti-panty posse.
The three young Hollywood starlets have been absolutely chastised as irresponsible, and dubbed as sluts by Hollywood patriarch Bette Midler. Even feminist Camille Paglia piled on by saying Lindsay was in a 'downward spiral' and that Paris Hilton stole her moves from 'drag queens.'
She commented that Britney was given the 'kiss of death' by Madonna live on MTV in 2003.
The magazine has more fun at the gals' expense by saying that Britney has caught an STD from Lindsay and Paris noting that STD stands for Style-Transmitted Disease.
The weekly entertainment magazine jokes a bit about how Britney caught this style 'disease' of flashing commando for paparazzi from her two new 'pals,' and then notes it might be quite more serious for Britney than it is with Lindsay and Paris.
Though the item that starts out light-hearted it turns a bit more serious when it reminds everyone that Britney has kids and an impending divorce and possible custody battle for her two young sons while Paris and Lindsay do not.
So much for the whole STD joke it appears. "It shows someone who's more focused on going out than being a parent," L.A. based family law expert Steve Cron told the weekly entertainment magazine.
Can it hurt Britney if a custody battle is pushed by soon to be ex-husband Kevin Federline?
Opinions vary, but certainly it won't help Britney out by mimicking single gals Paris and Lindsay's wild flashing ways.
